The Collaborative Advocacy Plan is a deliberate and practical approach to special education advocacy. This plan understands that you and your child’s school team must work together to have the individual school and district provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) and effective education program for your child. Our goal is always to attempt to make the school see our position and have a sense of empathy for what students and families are enduring.
Our approach is based on the idea that, for the well being of each individual child, who must typically operate day-to-day in the school environment, professionalism, collaboration, negotiation and mediation are the best course of action. We believe that an overly aggressive or protracted litigious approach may only serve to complicate matters. To produce this professional collaboration, Rainmaker Education Consultation Group’s advocates help you understand and negotiate the Special Education system from a position of informed strength and collaboration.
If we are unable to get what a child needs through a means of collaboration, we are always prepared to take the steps necessary to ensure each student gets what they need and are entitled to.
