I understand what it’s like to be a child with learning differences because I have been one. I uniquely understand the pain a child can endure in public school while trying to navigate life in a place you are not thriving in has given me a unique and firsthand perspective in this work.
Once I found my learning style and type of intelligence, I received my masters degree in special education and later received my Ed.S. in Special Education Administration from Simmons College.
I attended the William and Mary Law School program for Special Education Advocacy in 2013. I have been a public and private school special education teacher and an administrator of special education for over 20 years. My work has impacted and changed the lives of hundreds of children and their families.
I am currently teaching, working with students and families, and educational institutions as a educational consultant to improve learning and meaningful growth for all children.
I have worked as a teacher in both public and private schools, an administrator of Special Education, a director of education for a non-profit, and always an “Advocate” for children and families.
In my role as a board member representing families and education, I’ve been a consistent voice for children and families in need.
In addition, I conduct trainings on better and more holistic approaches to work with teachers, parents, and children for schools and professional organizations.
When I'm not working with children and families as an educational consultant, I enjoy spending time with my own family, hiking the wilderness, and spending time connecting myself and others to nature.
I enjoy playing and listening to music and living life with true enjoyment and purpose. A mindful approach to living inspires and connects me to the world and people I meet and work with.
I BELIEVE
I look to improve all aspects of a child’s life to create lasting change. These additional supports can be multi-faceted, including a connection with the natural world we live in.
